Nintendo 64 Video Game Card Box
It’s official! The Nifty Nerd is now Mrs. Nifty Nerd! I finally got married last weekend and it was fabulous.
Our overall theme was “geek chic.” We wanted the wedding to feel like us and showcase our nerdy passions, but we still wanted it to be classy. One of our more geeky touches was our card box. My husband created a video game themed card box using a hollow tube TV and N64 console. Here’s how he made it:
*Note: Please follow standard electrical safety precautions when disassembling the TV. They run DC electricity and the capacitor can hold a charge.
Step 2: Use a dremel to cut a slit into the N64 console and the top of the TV to create a slot for people to drop the cards into. Sand the edges of the N64 if they’re a little rough. (remember your safety glasses!)

Step 3: Get a piece of plexiglass and glue it inside the TV. We had our local Ace Hardware cut us a sheet of plexiglass to the size we needed, then we hot glued it into place.
Step 4: Print out your image (I made mine in Adobe Illustrator and printed it out at a UPS store), then secure it on the inside of the TV and plexiglass.

If it’s a part of who you are (which, of course 😉 ) then I say go for it! It is your day (and your future husband’s) after all!
