The sky’s the limit when it comes to adding nerdy details to plain wrapping. Go as detailed or simple as you like. I honestly think less is more, but decorate till your heart’s content. I used scrap paper to create Chewbacca’s bandolier. Simple but iconic and very identifiable by a Star Wars fan. Using this method, you could recreate minimalistic representations of any fandom or character.
Print off logos, symbols, crests, or other images on cardstock (like the Harry Potter Gryffindor house crest), then string it on ribbon, or tape it with double-sided tape to make another bold, but simple statement.

I think one of my favorite, more fanciful ways to add a touch of nerd flare is to cut out a fandom themed snowflake, then attach that to the top of your gift. I even have Legend of Zelda & Super Mario snowflake templates for you guys to use!
Another great wrapping paper option is to recycle old comic book pages or nerd themed posters. These items are already visually interesting and make for a fun medium.

Don’t be afraid to get creative with the way you actually wrap too! See my Superman wrap job as an example below. I wrapped the gift in two layers of paper, then tore the outer layer to reveal the “hidden” Superman logo/”outfit” underneath. You could also wrap gifts in Minecraft style paper and then stack them cleverly to create a built object.

I’ve even used fabric to wrap gifts before! I just love the Nintendo damask print of the below fabric. If you’re feeling really created, you can create fully customized fandom themed paper using a stamping/rolling method. I made Harry Potter and Doctor Who themed wrapping paper using this method.
